Portland Motorcycle Police Visit Silverton’s Home Place During Training Ride

SILVERTON, Ore. — A large group of Portland Police Bureau motorcycle officers stopped at the Home Place restaurant in Silverton on Thursday during a training ride.

The officers, part of the bureau’s motorcycle unit, parked their bikes in a neat row in the parking lot of the popular eatery, known for its homestyle meals and community atmosphere. The visit was part of a routine training exercise, allowing officers to practice riding skills.

The Portland Police Bureau regularly conducts training rides to maintain proficiency in motorcycle operations, which are critical for traffic enforcement and ceremonial duties. The Home Place stop provided a brief respite for the officers, who were seen chatting with patrons before continuing their ride.
